Our Personal Data Policy

At Lumin PDF, we are dedicated to file security. We used the latest encryption techniques to make sure your files are always safe. We are fully transparent about the way that we handle your data:

  1. We will not, under any circumstances whatsoever, give out or sell your files to anyone. Nor will we wilfully allow any 3rd party to access your files.
  2. We will not wilfully allow other users to access your files, except for the files that you share using the app.
  3. We only retain a minimum amount of personal data to ensure Lumin PDF can provide a high quality service. We do not retain copies of your files unless you explicitly upload them to the Lumin PDF servers.
  4. Every file opened with Lumin PDF is given a unique id. We use that id to record annotations and edits you perform on the file.
  5. When providing the service your files are transferred to and from the Lumin PDF servers. All Lumin PDF servers are located in USA and all transfers are SSL encrypted.
  6. We do not parse your files for keywords, or interact with your files in any way, other than to display in the app.

Files stored by Google Drive or other Cloud Storage Providers

Storing your files with a cloud storage provider like Google Drive makes it easier and more secure to use Lumin PDF. Your files are even safer if you open files directly from your cloud storage provider:

  1. Files that are opened from a cloud storage provider are not copied to our servers, unless a file conversion is performed.
  2. All connections with cloud storage providers are encrypted.

Delete policy

To avoid unintentional data loss, Lumin user data is not deleted immediately upon account deletion. Your account will remain deactivated for up to 3 months after the time you request to delete your account. After this time, we will permanently remove any personal data from our service, including your document collection; team membership and payment details.

In this time, you can sign in to reactivate your account; otherwise, your account including document collection, data payment, team, and personal information is completed deleted from our database after 3 months.

If you are currently paying for a individual or team subscription, you can request a refund by contact our support team: https://www.luminpdf.com/contact-support. If you are a member of any Lumin team, you will be automatically removed from the team, but the documents you uploaded to that team are still available.

Team owners can not delete their account before they transfer team ownership or delete the team.

Conflict of Information

If any items on this page directly conflict with the Privacy Policy then the terms in the Privacy Policy will supersede.

Changes to this Policy

Please note that this Policy may change from time to time. We will not reduce your rights under this Policy without your explicit consent. We will post any Policy changes on this page and, if the changes are significant, we will provide a more prominent notice (including, for certain services, email notification of Policy changes).
