California Month to Month Rental Agreement

A California Month to Month Rental Agreement is a legal contract between a landlord and tenant that establishes rental terms without a fixed lease term. It specifies rent amount, payment due dates and responsibilities for maintenance, utilities and security deposits. Either the landlord or tenant can terminate the agreement by providing at least 30 days' written notice, or 60 days if the tenant has lived in the unit for more than a year.

Any individual renting a property in California on a month to month basis must complete the California Month to Month Rental Agreement. Both the tenant and landlord need to sign it for the rental terms to be valid.

Once completed, the month to month tenancy agreement in California should be submitted to the landlord or property management company. Submission can be done in person, by mail or online, depending on the landlord’s preferred submission method.
