The world isn’t the same as it was 30 years ago. Neither is the way we work. In 2014, we gave online collaboration a new form. We dreamed of work in the cloud, where anyone could edit and send files without getting off the couch.

From one man to a globally-renowned software
Lumin was born in a bedroom.
Our founder Max was an engineering student in Christchurch, New Zealand, working on the city ’s post-earthquake rebuild. He saw a mismatch between old and new workflows: on construction sites he’d draw on paper blueprints, and in the office he’d email around digital plans.
There was a way to merge these systems. Between his Christchurch bedroom and his student apartment at Stanford University in California, Max invented the first version of what we now call Lumin.
Within a month a million people were using it.
We added more developers and a world-class customer support team to our ranks, so even more digital-first users could benefit from Lumin – now, more than 100 million of you do.
