The way we work has changed
The world isn’t the same as it was 30 years ago. Neither is the way we work. In 2014, we gave online collaboration a new form. We dreamed of work in the cloud, where anyone could edit and send files without getting off the couch.

We dreamed of no more wasted time, and no more back and forth. That dream became a reality.
Software that grows with you
That meeting could have been an email - and that email could be in Lumin. We can be a library, a document editor, a contract workflow or a project management system.

From one man to a globally-renowned software

Lumin was born in a bedroom.

Our founder Max was an engineering student in Christchurch, New Zealand, working on the city’s post-earthquake rebuild. He saw a mismatch between old and new workflows: on construction sites he’d draw on paper blueprints, and in the office he’d email around digital plans.

There was a way to merge these systems. Between his Christchurch bedroom and his student apartment at Stanford University in California, Max invented the first version of what we now call Lumin.

Within a month a million people were using it.

We added more developers and a world-class customer support team to our ranks, so even more digital-first users could benefit from Lumin – now, more than 100 million of you do.

Lumin is always growing.
