Created by leading Māori health advocate Sir Mason Durie, the Te Whare Tapa Whā model conceptualises wellbeing as a holistic experience supported by multiple areas of life in this case represented by the pillars of a house. This exercise uses this model to break down wellbeing into 5 categories and encourages students to consider each category, when thinking about their overall wellbeing. This activity can be used by students of all ages.
