IMM 5490 - Aug 2013

IMM 5490 is used by Canadian citizens or permanent residents to sponsor their relatives to come to Canada as permanent residents. The form needs to be filled out completely and accurately. The sponsor needs to agree to provide financial support to their relative(s) for a specific period of time. The form also includes an undertaking which states that the sponsor agrees to repay any social assistance paid to the sponsored person(s) by a province or territory during the undertaking period.

Canadian citizens or permanent residents who want to sponsor their relatives to come to Canada as permanent residents.

The completed IMM 5490 should be submitted along with the other required documents needs to be submitted to the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
