The Astrea and Lumin Sign for Salesforce logos, side by side

Salesforce consulting partner Astrea IT uses Lumin Sign inside Salesforce to generate, send and sign documents automatically, saving hours across everything from onboarding to certification.

When your entire business runs on Salesforce, the last thing you want is a signing process that lives outside it. Astrea IT knows this better than most.

Astrea IT is a Salesforce consulting partner based in India, working with clients across the US, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Canada and the UK. The team has deep expertise across the core Salesforce clouds (Sales, Service, Marketing, Agentforce, Data Cloud and Revenue Cloud) and has published close to 50 apps on the AppExchange.

Astrea first brought Lumin Sign in for its own document signing. The team liked it enough that it now puts it in front of clients too. For a consultancy whose reputation rides on the advice it gives, that only happens with a tool it genuinely trusts and uses every day.

Best of both: Salesforce automation meets Lumin streamlined signing

Salesforce handles the business logic and automation through flows. Lumin Sign takes care of the documents, generating them from reusable templates and capturing the eSignature. Run together, they take the manual document work out of the process.

"Salesforce is very strong on business automation, and Lumin is very strong on generating templated documents and eSignature," says Naveen Gabrani, CEO of Astrea IT. "Together, it's a winning combination."

One recent project shows what that looks like at scale. Astrea IT runs a summer training program that teaches Salesforce and Agentforce to engineering students, partnering with nine colleges across northern India.

Everything from course recordings and student details to assignment progress is managed in Salesforce, and students who complete the program earn a signed certificate. With more than 500 students taking part, issuing those certificates manually was unrealistic. Instead, each one is generated from the student's Salesforce record and sent through Lumin Sign for signature automatically.

The same approach now runs across everyday paperwork too: NDAs and appointment letters for new hires, and experience letters for employees moving on. In total, Astrea IT has sent more than 445 documents through Lumin Sign and Salesforce so far, and that volume keeps climbing as more processes move across.

Automation that pays off at scale

Because documents are generated dynamically from Salesforce data, nobody builds a file by hand or re-keys details that already exist in the system. Astrea IT estimates this saves around 10 minutes on every document. Multiply that across the more than 445 documents the team has already sent, and it adds up to dozens of hours saved, with more banked every time another process moves across.

"When the volumes are large, it's a huge saving in terms of hours," says Naveen. "Once you scale up and a business flow requires several signatures, that's where you see the benefit."

A second benefit lands after signing. Every completed document is stored back in Salesforce automatically, against the right record, giving Astrea IT a searchable, auditable trail with no extra filing.

"Everything gets stored after signature in Salesforce, so we have all the records in place," Naveen says. "It's easy to search and get the documents back in a short time. If someone needs a document three months down the line, I can go to Salesforce, search the person, and the signed document is already there."

A simpler, more cost-effective alternative

Astrea IT had used other eSignature tools before, but none fit as neatly. The move to Lumin came down to three things: it worked seamlessly inside Salesforce, it was simple to run and it cost far less.

"It integrates well with Salesforce and it's much more affordable," Naveen says. "Being an offshore company, we have to keep cost in mind. Lumin meets our requirements, it has all the features we need, and it's at a lower cost."

For customers already paying for Salesforce and a stack of other apps, an expensive signing tool only compounds the problem. "Lumin is significantly more affordable than other products, by an order of magnitude."

Setup has been just as light. After some initial training, the team stands up new document processes quickly. "It hardly takes hours to set up most business processes in Lumin. Now it takes minutes to build a template." The signing experience is just as simple: "It's very seamless. We just click on a link, click on the signature, then click done. That's it."

Security and support they can put their name to

Astrea IT’s documents often carry salary figures and contract values, so confidentiality is not negotiable.

"Only the employee and senior management should know salary figures, or only finance and the client should know a contract value," Naveen says. "Confidentiality is critical, and Lumin ensures that." The team checked Lumin against its security requirements before rolling it out, and it met them all.

Support has reinforced the decision. With large vendors, Naveen notes, a response can take days. "With Lumin, in a few hours we were able to get our queries sorted." When the team needed a feature, Lumin either showed them how to use it or gave a clear release timeline for anything not yet available.

That responsiveness is a big part of why Astrea IT is comfortable putting Lumin Sign in front of its own clients. "If anybody asked us, we would definitely recommend it," Naveen says. "The support has been great, the people are friendly to work with, and it's easy to set up."

Confident enough to sell it, not just use it

Astrea doesn't only run Lumin Sign internally. As a Lumin partner, the team also recommends it to its own clients and sets it up for them where it fits, which makes the partner relationship every bit as important as the product.

That relationship has been a strong one. "Our experience with the Lumin Partner Program has been excellent," says Naveen. "Everyone we've worked with has been approachable, knowledgeable and genuinely supportive. It's been a pleasure partnering with the Lumin team."

Just as important is having the tools to sell it. Lumin equips Astrea IT with training, case studies and other resources it can put in front of prospective customers. "That has given our team the confidence to engage with clients effectively," Naveen says.

For a consultancy that works with many technology vendors, how Lumin shows up as a partner stands out. "Lumin compares very favorably with the other technology partners we work with," says Naveen. "The team gives a high level of personal attention, responds quickly and is always willing to help. That accessibility and collaboration makes a real difference."

Lumin Sign turned signing from a separate job into part of how Astrea IT already works, generating each document from Salesforce data, sending it for signature and storing it back against the record, at any volume.

If your team runs on Salesforce, it can work the same way for you.
